All-New｜Salpiglossis - Chocolate Royal｜ Food & Beverages

Rich, velvety, and wildly elegant, Salpiglossis ‘Chocolate Royal’ brings jewel-toned drama to the annual flower garden. Its trumpet-shaped blooms open in deep burgundy, chocolate, and mahogany tones, often traced with intricate veining that gives each flower a hand-painted look. The result is lush, moody, and completely bouquet-worthy.
Also known as Chocolate Royal Painted Tongue, this striking annual grows about 2–3' tall and adds luxurious color to borders, cutting gardens, containers, and romantic cottage plantings. The deep hues pair beautifully with golds, creams, apricot flowers, dark foliage, ornamental grasses, and silver-leaved companions, creating a bold yet refined garden palette.
Plant Salpiglossis ‘Chocolate Royal’ in full sun to part shade with rich, well-drained soil and regular moisture. Cut flowers for arrangements, and keep plants lightly deadheaded for a longer display. Unusual, elegant, and full of old-world charm, this painted tongue is a wonderful choice for gardeners who love dramatic annual flowers. Explore more seasonal beauties in our Annuals collection.
